This one day course does not assume any
previous knowledge of Attachment Theory but is likely to still prove of interest
even to those with existing knowledge. The format of the course is presentations
interspersed with small group exercises and main group discussions. A Handout
accompanies the course.

Learning Objectives:

nature of Attachment and how it forms.

child's early neurological development.

Attachment styles (types of Attachment).

parenting behaviours maximise security for the child and how Attachment can be
distorted by parental / carer behaviour.

effects of separation and loss on children.
