General Training ConditionsPlease note that separate Terms & Conditions relate to Osiris College training.
Trainer
access to venue preferably no later than 8.30am (nearby parking required – we bring
quantities of reference and training materials and this is impractical on public
transport) and it takes time to set up and prepare for the day and there is
nothing worse than doing this in a rush. Training
venue: seating arranged in U shape with no tables (bad for interactive
adult learning and is more akin to school teaching) between participants and
trainer. This format is suitable for a maximum of 25 participants. Tables
available at sides of room for materials / books and groupwork where required.
Powerpoint projector or OHP and screen (we will say which at the time and we do
have our own computer, projector and screen if needed), flip
chart and pads required. Trainer will notify if TV / video is required. Space
required for small groupwork either via a suitably large main room or
separate breakaway rooms. Trainer to be apprised of Fire Arrangements and if a
First Aider is / is not available and contact point. We will accept up to 22 - 25 participants per course given two trainers. Otherwise we limit to 16 participants per one trainer. The minimum number is 6 participants except when specially negotiated. The exception (maximum) is our Court Work and Court Process Course (or the Mental Health Review Tribunal variant) which is always a two trainer course and has a maximum participant number of 12. It is important that the room is BIG enough to hold the numbers. We find that venues are often too small and make for an uncomfortable training experience. What is good for a two hour seminar is not so good for a full day training course that incorporates a lot of small groupwork. Our standard training times are: 9.15am for 9.30am start, tea breaks of 15 minutes am and pm with a 1 hour lunch break. The training day will usually end at 4.30pm. B&B may be needed depending on distance of venue from Osiris base. Please also see Fees. Copyright Issues: Some
(few) Local Authorities and organisations tend to use generalistic contracts
deriving from the Chief Executive's Department which adopt a copyright clause
which allows the Authority to claim copyright simply upon the basis of paying a
training fee. We will strike out any such clause. Our original materials
(and there is quite a lot) belong to us and will not transfer upon the basis of
any training fee. |
