FAMILY SUPPORT WITH CHILDREN IN NEED
This one day course can be combined with other courses on Change Work with adults and children: For example, please see: Attachment
Theory The course can combine elements of the above courses especially if cast as a two day event. Family support work is mainly orientated to working under Section 17 of the Children Act but this course is also of relevance in terms of interventions where children need safeguarding. The course examines issues of partnership within the framework of the concept "Team around the Child". Learning Objectives: Maximising Partnerships with
service users. We think that much of the more important work conducted by child care staff occurs under the auspices of Section 17 and most of this is about change. However, whatever the level of work, staff need the tools for doing change work and a two day introductory course is not going to do much to instill the knowledge and skills required. This kind of knowledge is simply unavailable through standard College training courses and it seems to be the case that even most qualified social workers have had no "get up and do it" training on change methodology. This is a massive gap that badly needs to be closed. |
