HEALTH & SAFETY

 

Issues of Health & Safety mainly affect our "on site" training for Local Authorities and other social care
agencies.

Our general position on H&S matters is as follows and which is derived from our Standard Contract:

                               The provider must not be impeded in any way and must be fully apprised by the Commissioner of the
      Health and Safety
provisions of the training venue or pertinent circumstances relating to Training or
      Service.
                               

                       Before the commencement of any training course, the Provider MUST be apprised by the Commissioner of the following H&S aspects such as what to do in the event of a Fire and advising of "Muster Points", "Fire Exits" and Fire Extinguishers and must also be made aware of the whereabouts of the "First Aid Box" and the identity and contact  procedure of  the resident / local "First Aider" or if such a person is not available in the situation or circumstances. Arrangements for Refreshments should be made known as well as the location of Toilets. Arrangements for Smokers should also be made known.

                                                           Before the commencement of any training course the Provider will make the course participants aware of
                        
H&S issues such
as what to do in the event of a Fire advising of "Muster Points",
"Fire Exits" and Fire
                         Extinguishers
and the whereabouts of the "First Aid Box"   and the identity and whereabouts of the
                         resident "First Aider" or if
such a person is not available. Arrangements for Refreshments will be explained as
                         well as the location of Toilets and arrangements for Smokers.

When training we will continuously monitor the training environment and participants and
look for any sign of discomfort or distress and take appropriate action accordingly.

                        It is the responsibility of the Commissioning agency to ensure that all equipment and buildings used are in proper
                        working order and do not represent any hazard to any person. This includes the provision of Fire Escapes and
                        Fire Extinguishers.

In the case of any kind of independent social work we are asked to undertake, a Risk Assessment should be provided by the Commissioner prior to the delivery of any Contracted Consultancy Service and where the H&S of any Provider (Partner or Associate) personnel might be at some risk or hazard that could reasonably be known or that might be known to the Commissioner at any time prior to the delivery of the Service and which may be present during the delivery of Contracted Service.
