Currently, (2011 to further notice) Osiris College is ONLY offering "buy a place" training places on demand given sufficient expressions of interest from groups of individuals led by an individual wishing to commission us. In other words, there are no such courses available off the shelf unless a person representing at least a group of 6 people (can be up to twenty people) undertakes to arrange a venue and commission our training and undertakes to be responsible for the payment of our fees.

All our other services remain fully available including commissioned in training by Local Authorities.

Osiris College (launched 2011) is the arm of Osiris Training & Consultancy Ltd that is about marketing a selection of our Training Courses direct to the social care public and, where appropriate, to the general interested public.

Since the website of Osiris Training & Consultancy was launched in 1999, we have been asked innumerable times over the years whether private individuals can "buy a place" on our courses. Of course, we have thought about opening up our training many times but to do this means running the whole show independently from arranging the venue, advertising and administration through to taking individual bookings. So it was always a case of "a round tuit" and time just drifted by.

But the "tuit" has finally arrived and so here we are at a new dawn - year 2011, Osiris College finally gets off the ground at last and hopefully you will be one of our course participants!

Some of this background information relates directly to Osiris College training as content or as background to the depth of experience, knowledge and skills lying behind our training courses.

Please note that Osiris College is not a Further or Higher Education College. And nor do we wish to pretend to be. Our use of the term "College" is only so that we can mark off and be crystal clear about which set of our courses is which and for what sector of our customers. Nothing more to it than that.

Note that we do not offer degrees or GCSE's or A-levels although we may be able to offer NVQ programmes via our associate links. What we do offer is vocational-based short course training in social care and related subject areas and which adopts as its model for knowledge and skills, and which inform our Learning Objectives, those areas of social care knowledge and competence generally known as "Common Core" and to which, broadly, all our training courses are linked.  All our courses are either CPD verified or undergoing verification.

You can also be assured that Osiris College trainers (the Directors of Osiris Training & Consultancy Ltd) certainly do "know their onions" having practised within social care for a great many years and who are very well qualified.

Our ethos for our training business is that we here to make life better for the people you work with by providing you with the knowledge and skills to enable you to do a better job and serve the interest of those you work with in a better way. This is the prime reason why we work within social care education. There are probably easier ways to make a living but when we are told by our customers (as we frequently are) that they really gained from our training and it will make a difference then that is high reward and immensely satisfying.
