POLICIES & PROCEDURES (LOCAL) FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES
This one day course will require us to work with the commissioning agency in collecting and detailing the exact form and content of this course. This course is designed to enable staff to gain an understanding of both National and Local Policies and Procedures with respect to: v Departmental structure including Adult Services and Support Services for Children v The agenda both in terms of national and local targets v Local C&F Procedures manuals and other relevant guidance. v
Supervision policy and supervisory process in terms of performance
management, personal development, v The National Training and Qualifications system together with an outline of local Training Policy. This one-day course is concerned to familiarise participants with the major Policies and Procedures of Anywhere Children's Services. “Knowledge is power,” so said Francis Bacon, and knowledge of the Department’s perspectives on policy and procedure represents power to advocate and provide services. It is also the means whereby a staff member secures adequate support and supervision. We examine aspects of “Supervision Policy,” “Recording Policy” other local Policy and Procedures manuals and issues of Violence to Staff. Some Agencies may feel that the above is covered in their Induction Training. Our experience is that this is generally not so and participants have greatly valued this course. NB: Child Protection procedures are covered in “Safeguarding & Promoting” Course
