RECORDING PRACTICE

This is a one-day course.

Osiris has undertaken generally-based Recording and Report Writing** courses for many years both as one day and two day variants. Both these courses have now undergone substantial revision (are effectively new courses) and are presented as one day separated courses intended to convey the key requirements of each topic area. There is a small measure of cross-over with the Report Writing course but this is minimal given the different focus of these topics.

• Clarity of purpose in recording:

• Specificity of content

• Accuracy of content: fact, opinion, observation, allegation and hearsay

• Confidentiality and issues of sensitivity

• Issues regarding retrievability of sources: use of abbreviations and the use of language     

• Key tips for effective recording

• Optional Grammar quiz (fun quiz but with a serious point)
