RECORDING & REPORT WRITING (PART 1)

RECORDING & REPORT WRITING (1 OR 2 DAYS)

This one or two-day basic course covers the legislation relating to records: how long records must be kept and the Data Protection Act (1998) and Freedom of Information Act (2000) and access to records. The ability to communicate effectively is universally recognised as a necessary skill. We utilise various exercises to show how difficult this can be but also how important it is to learn and develop this skill. Included is a video exercise where this skill is tested via peer review and judgement. We include useful guidelines to help ensure effective reporting and recording. Although Court Reports are referenced, this course does NOT include detailed information about Court Work or Court Process which is taught in our Court Work course.

A special version is available for Adult Care or Mental Health Workers. Please state which as this course cannot be made completely generic.

This course is a precursor to the Children & Families Analysis and Assessment (Advanced Recording) course.
